As an industrial designer at Clixo, I’ve developed and worked on new products, expansion packs, educational sets and packaging for retail and education. With a focus on extensive prototyping, testing, sketching, 3D modeling and 3D printing, Clixo has a fast-paced startup mentality that always keeps things moving. The small design team is very collaborative but still allows each designer to own their projects.

During my time so far I have worked on several projects, including two new sets, Clixo’s first themed packs: Mars Rovers, Ocean Creatures, Tropical Birds and the Jewelry Pack. This included everything from sketching initial concepts, designing new shapes, coming up with what can be built with each set and even laying out the instructions to create them. It also included development of new parts like the Duo Axle bracket, which for the first time has reversible magnets for a perfect connection, regardless of polarity. “Mars Rovers Pack” recently won a 2024 Core77 Design Award for Toys & Play.

I’ve also worked on the packaging for the education set, our first product specifically for the classroom! The “suitcase” design protects the contents with specific sections for all the parts while creating an easy-to-hold and carry enclosure that is as unique looking as it is effective.

Other work includes building several custom-made Clixo displays for trade shows, toy fairs, retail space and live TV shows.
